La Nuit was making me envious talking about the genie pants she bought in Buenos Aries. I haven't been able to find these here. They do have them at Tangoleva, but they are not my favorite and they are 68 bucks. So I was at Target and bought a 14 dollar pair of black knit pajamas and brought them home and cut off about 7 inches (if you do this try them on and decide for yourself what is the best length for you). I gathered the edge and made little cuffs with some of the fabric left from cutting them off. Make the cuffs tight enough so that they stay where you want them. I attached the cuffs and in less than a half hour I had some pretty cute little genie pants. On Nuit's blog there is a discussion of the rather goofy looking pants that have the baggy crotch. These are not those. These are nice to wear under dresses on cooler nights, or with a long tunic I think. We will see how they work in the real world.
My photo was a little tricky because I had to take it in the mirror, and with the flash it did not work at all.
P.S. Target has a nice selection of footless tights as well.

Fantastic job Elizabeth!
Thanks, Miss Tango, they were really very easy.
Do people really wear those baggy crotch pants for dancing??

fantastico! :-)
i was thinking of doing the same to some gaucho shorts as well... in bsas, they had very limited colors... i want some in dark jewel tones like black-purple, and sapphire-blue.
an idea: maybe you can make some and start a tango clothing business?
La Nuit:
I agree that interesting deep colors seem hard to find. I am always looking around and things are so blah, at least here in Seattle. I probably need to get out more.
As far as design/clothing business, it had crossed my mind, but I need to have two or three of me to do all the things I am doing now! ...maybe if I weren't blogging so much...nah.
