Ninety Percent Perspiration

I am on a new series and back to screenprinting for a few months. I have drawing notes, full sized sketches, and paintings on paper...that is the fun part. Today I have to drive to Tacoma to pick up new screens. I have to assess my old squeegees and other equipment and do set up. Tomorrow, I find all the right ingredients and containers for mixing up huge amounts of color, test the colors, paint the first stencil, arrange the space, put up the drying line again....and so on.

Then I will print for about a month, to get as close as I can to the inspiration, of tango in the setting of the garden and the interior, of the beauty of that inside space, the faces, the atmosphere...and of course it cannot be done, but since I am alive and since I make art, I have to keep trying. I really don't know how to do anything else.

Between printings I will throw some pots for fun...and of course I plan to dance at least three nights a week, which is just right. Even two will do. Ten percent inspiration...gotta have that.
