Viejos Milongueros

I found these again, after losing my last posting to the quirks of blogger.   I like these videos for the calm and normal quality of the event.  This is the way I like a milonga to be.  All kinds of regular folks having a wonderful time dancing to tango music.  What else do you need?  Every one seems to be having a good time from the looks of it. It is a very special space in life, to have friends and to have fun with them.  I treasure it.
Since these videos were made more than twenty years ago, and a lot of the people are older...it makes me realize that some of them are gone now, or no longer dancing.
Carpe Diem my friends.

I love these videos. Like you said, it's nice to see to just see regular folks having a great time dancing.

Thanks Mari. I keep returning to this treasure trove. There are some amazing things going on that I would not have been able to see even a year ago. And the way that people are together on the floor, all kinds of expressions/levels of the tango really, and all seemingly getting on fine. As our communities grow and develop now, with some fine dancers, it is informative to go back, just twenty years, before a lot of crazy stuff began to erode tango. YouTube has been a big factor really in how we all find our places, what we emulate, and how we realize truth in tango....that it is about people more than anything, about community, friends, love, and most of all about that music that never gets old.
